Ken Block To Grow a Mo
Nov-04 2008 / 13:18 EST

Ken Block - one week inKen Block will proudly support "Movember", an annual charity event committed to raising money and awareness for men's health and the fight against prostate cancer. Movember challenges men (Mo Bros) to grow a Mo (Aussie slang for moustache) for one month only, November, as a symbol in support of fighting men's health issues.

Movember was created to combat men's lack of awareness about the very real health issues they face. Many feel they have to be tough - "a real man" - and are reluctant to see a doctor about an illness or to go for regular medical checkups. The aim of Movember is to change these attitudes and make men's health fun by putting the Mo back on the face of American men while raising some serious funds for the number one men's health issue, prostate cancer.

At the start of November guys register with a clean-shaven face and have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their moustache, while raising money that is donated directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation which will use the funds for high-impact research to find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in the US with one in six American men developing the disease and more than 28,000 men dying of the disease every year. Since Movember's inception more than $29 million has been raised globally for prostate cancer research, including $740,568 raised in the United States last year. Movember is the biggest international event supporting prostate cancer.

"Generally, I have some hair on my chin and eliminate the hair below my nose. But, for this great cause, I am glad to switch up my facial hair priorities for the month," said Block. "I have never actually grown a mustache, so this if going to be a new experience for me!"

HOW TO DONATE: Movember is very proud to be teaming with the Prostate Cancer Foundation in the US and all donations made will go directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The Prostate Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

To donate to Ken Block's Mo you can either:
